Introducing the Turner Motorsport Performance Lightweight Flywheel!
Lightweight flywheels have proven themselves to be a worthwhile performance enhancement. But with the quicker throttle response and horsepower improvement comes one serious drawback: flywheel chatter. Without the dual-mass flywheel’sย rubber isolators, a lightweight aluminum flywheel has more rattle than stock. Weย haveย designed our brand newย flywheel using Chromolyย steel, cuttingย weight byย almost ten pounds vs the stock Dual-Mass Flywheel. The steel helps dampen vibration and noise so you get near-factory refinement and most of the benefits of a lightweight flywheel: quicker throttle response, better reliability, and more power to the wheels.ย Zero-balanced and SFI 1.1 certified (material and design has been independently burst tested to ensure quality and safety).
Modern flywheels are built with additional components that are designed to dampen and minimize vibrations from the engine and transmission. Weight has increased and reliability has decreased. With additional weight, more energy is required for it to move.ย A lightweight flywheel does away with the dual mass design and its additional mass, so more energy can be diverted to where it counts most – moving the car. The flywheel and clutch are one of the first areas that engine builders address when making the rotating assembly lighter for race engines. The dampening effect is just not needed on cars that are focused on performance. With a single-mass flywheel, the unreliable Dual-Mass Flywheel design is eliminated.

- SFI 1.1 specifies minimum material properties and requires a 3rd party lab certification test, spinning the flywheel to 1.5x redline for 1 hour to ensure the flywheel will not burst.

Heavy Duty Pressure Plate:ย ACT’s Heavy Duty pressure plate offers a 20-50% clamp load increase over the stock S54 pressure plate, stock to moderate pedal feel, and can be used for either street or racing applications. All diaphragms go through a four-stage heating process for increased strength and unparalleled performance.
Xtreme Pressure Plate:ย Xtreme pressure plate offers a 50-120% clamp load increase over the stock S54 pressure plate, moderate to heavy pedal feel, and is recommended for high-performance street andย racing applications. All diaphragms go through a four-stage heating process for increased strength and unparalleled performance.
Sprung Center Street Disc:ย ACT’sย most popular sprung clutch disc. Its materialย composition is high quality, organic friction materials with high copper content for better heat transfer, and a steel-backed lining for great burst energy strength. It has an increased torque capacity and is better for faster shifting with its reduced marcel. This disc offers a long life span and quiet operation with increased strength and reliability.
Sprung 6-Puck Racing Disc:ย The G6 clutch disc is a sprung,ย 6-pad racing disc that is recommended for high horsepower street and race us and is better at handling high heat than the street disc. Its materialย composition is high quality, ceramic friction materials and a heavy-duty torsional dampening springs that are rated for this clutch disc’s size and expected uses. It has an increased torque capacity and is better for faster shifting with its low weight and inertia. Being a racing disc, it has good durability and its ceramic composition allows for high heat tolerances. It also has aย fast, aggressive engagement in comparison to standard street-use clutch discs.
